The pangs of truth
I had written a review of Fracture. What I had forgotten to include was that I had not watched it from the beginning. Unfortunately, the friend with whom I watched the film, had just watched the start and wrote me this:
Hey, I noticed you wrote about Fracture on your blog.
You wrote: “The movie keeps you guessing. Through much of it you can’t be sure if Hopkins’s character is guilty or not”
We didn’t see the beginning, I watched the beginning with my folks, and they reveal everything right from the start! The fact that he killed his wife, the fact that buddy cop was doing his wife, as well. I was disappointed, I liked the movie much better from where we started watching it!
So there we have it. It seems I spoke (reviewed) before I had actually watched the entire film. To my defense, from the point that I jumped in, I was left with such a good feeling about the film I had entirely forgotten that I missed the beginning.
Too bad.
