The power of words
So do you think words have a lot of power?
I often wonder about power, the concept and its application. Authority is said to have power, the power to make us comply in fact.
The question is do words have power or does the author of those words carry the power. I guess the simplest example can go something like this: would the same words written by two persons, one a famous figure the other a nobody, carry the same amount of power. Would they have the same amount of influence over a population?
Thinking about it my answer to that question is no. The set of words spoken by the famous person would have more power. Ok, that part I get.
BUT…
What about the words spoken by the nobody, they would certainly still have an impact on persons who think independently would they not? If so than certainly words have power and that means that anyone who has the ability to shape words well enough can do almost anything. Is that true?
Find the flaw in the logic if there is one.
